Debt issuance programmes
Since Vattenfall is not a public listed company, and therefore does not have access to equity financing, we have to finance our operations by supplementing our internally-generated funds with external loans.
To safeguard the availability of funds and maintain flexibility, the Group has several types of debt issuance programmes. At present, there are two commercial paper programmes and two medium term note (MTN) programmes. In addition, comitted credit facilities comprise a seven-year revolving Credit Facility of EUR 1,000 million maturing in february 2013 as well as an overdraft facility of SEK 100 million.
