Vattenfall Capital Markets Day, 9 August 2006

On 9 August, 2006, Vattenfall organised its 5th Capital Markets Day in Gothenburg in conjunction with the European Athletics Championships of which Vattenfall is an official sponsor. Some 80 participants including fixed income and equity investors, analysts and bankers, listened to comprehensive presentations delivered by key Vattenfall representatives.

Speakers included; CEO Lars G. Josefsson, CFO Matts Ekman, Head of BG Nordic, Hans von Uthmann, Head of BG Vattenfall Europe in Germany, Dr. Klaus Rauscher and Head of BG Poland Tuomo Hatakka. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session. As in previous years, the purpose of the event was to provide a deeper insight into Vattenfall’s present situation, our markets and our strategy going forward. In the afternoon we adjourned to the Ullevi Stadium where Knut Leman, Head of Group Communication informed about Vattenfall’s brand strategy. In the evening we watched some of the very exciting finals, such as the mens high jump and javelin, the women’s 100 metres, the mens 400 meters as well as the 1,500 metres finals. This year’s CMD also featured an optional event. On 10 August. a field trip to Vattenfall’s nuclear power plant at Ringhals, Scandinavias largest power plant, was arranged along with a seminar on Vattenfall’s Nordic electricy production and nuclear production in particular. Some 30 participants listened to presentations by Göran Lundgren, Head of Nordic Electricty Generation and Jan Edberg, Managing Director of Ringhals AB. After the presentations there was a guided tour of one of the reactors and the control room simulator.
