Vattenfall Capital Markets Day, 27 September 2005
On 27 September, 2005, Vattenfall organized its 4th Capital Markets Day at the Stockholm Concert Hall – the beautiful building situated in the centre of Stockholm. The Concert Hall is the venue for the world famous Nobel Prize ceremony which takes place every year on the 10th of December. It is also the home of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
Some 100 participants, including fixed income and equity investors, analysts, bankers, rating agencies and a few financial journalists listened to comprehensive presentations delivered by key Vattenfall representatives. Speakers included; CEO Lars G. Josefsson, CFO Matts Ekman, Head of BG Nordic, Hans von Uthmann, Head of BG Vattenfall Europe in Germany, Dr. Klaus Rauscher, Head of BG Poland Tuomo Hatakka and finally, Head of Vattenfall Trading Services, Erik Saether. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session.
As in previous years, the purpose of the event was to provide a deeper insight into Vattenfall’s present situation, our markets and our future plans. A special presentation was given on the new, European, carbon dioxide trading system. The formal part of the CMD was followed by dinner and some first-rate musical entertainment.
This year’s CMD also featured an optional event. A field trip to Vattenfall’s hydro power plant at Älvkarleby was arranged along with a seminar on Nordic hydropower. Some 30 participants took part in the guided tour of the new and the old power units of the power station. During the afternoon, presentations were delivered by senior representatives of Business Unit Vattenfall Nordic Generation, on hydro power generation in general, and also on the operational and financial aspects of the hydro power operations, in particular those of Vattenfall.
