What does your work currently involve?
Currently, I'm in charge of a project to develop a new method that can be used throughout the Group to measure customer satisfaction. This method would make it possible to compare results and identify trends between various units and markets within the Group – at both operational and strategic levels. Before this summer, we will then conduct a customer survey and evaluate the new system.
Why did you choose to participate in the trainee programme?
The international trainee programme provides an introduction to Vattenfall that simply can't be beat. It also provides very good initial leadership training. Also, I wanted to work with strategy in an international environment.
It didn't take long at all before I discovered how interesting the energy industry is. The types of issues we deal with are quite relevant and very important because they greatly impact society. We need to consider many important variables in order to succeed and combine future energy needs with sustainable development.
What did you get the most out of participating in the programme?
I obtained very broad knowledge about the company's various business areas and was given the opportunity to build up an invaluable international network of contacts. For example, I did shift work for a few days at a thermal power station in Poland. A few months later, I was working in an office in Brussels where the focus was on building a better relationship between Vattenfall and various decision makers within the EU.
What do you expect to work with in the near future?
To implement ongoing projects in the best possible way!
