Leadership

It is crucial that we have good leaders at Vattenfall.

At Vattenfall, we recognise that world-class management is crucial to our ability to meet the challenges of the global energy market. To promote and cultivate management excellence, we work with long-term management-planning and offer a range of leadership development programmes. Our managers must be skilled in business and good at managing people. They must be able to set objectives in cooperation with their employees, empower and inspire them and give clear and constant feedback. The following are some of the tools we use to cultivate great management and leadership skills.

Management planning

At group level, we identify and evaluate the 225 highest-level executives, along with potential candidates and young managers. They all discuss their results and future development with their managers.

Global Leadership Development Programmes

Our global leadership development programmes promote a common understanding of Vattenfall’s corporate values and business strategies. Participants learn from leading people in Vattenfall and industry in general, and academics from top universities and business schools. The International Job Rotation Programme and the International Trainee Programme aim to identify and develop future managers at an early stage.

International Network for Women

Vattenfall’s Network for Women identifies and facilitates career development for female managers at Vattenfall. The participants are given the opportunity to share knowledge with colleagues, researchers and business leaders.
