Developing skills and knowledge
Securing and providing development opportunities for our employees is essential for Vattenfall’s success.
We provide our employees with opportunities for development, both personal and professional, so everyone working for us can realise their full potential.
Through participation in project work, temporary assignments and job rotation, our staff have opportunities to work in other units, cities or countries.
Individual development plans
We translate long-term business goals into future competence needs. Action plans are devised for all units, and all employees have an individual development dialogue with their manager at least once a year.
Competence transfer
Experienced employees are critical to our future operations, and we have a range of tools designed to take care of this valuable resource. One example is the mentor programme developed by Vattenfall Nordic. This programme gives experienced managers and specialists a way to share their professional skills and work experience with younger employees.
International assignments
As a large multicultural corporation, Vattenfall needs employees with broad international experience. We encourage employees to move across international and company borders, and support cultural awareness and language skills.
International Job Rotation Programme
This Group development programme for young employees is designed to create a deeper understanding of Vattenfall, and to facilitate knowledge sharing. The programme lasts one year, and participants work in three different countries and in three different business units. They also take part in seminars and workshops.
