The internationalisation of the energy market has resulted in major expansion for Vattenfall, in terms of both areas and employee numbers.
Numbers of employees
Over the past few years, Vattenfall has grown from 8.000 employees to 32.000. This breaks down to:
- Germany – 20.000
- Nordic countries – 9.000
- Poland – 3.000
This increase in the number of employees is mainly due to acquisitions in Germany and Poland. However, because the newly acquired companies have undergone major restructuring and downsizing programmes, staff numbers in individual units have generally decreased.
