What do you like most in your work?

There are so many positive aspects of my work. The diversity of environmental issues means that I am always learning something. I can work in different teams within Vattenfall and that's how I have become acquainted with so many wonderful colleagues. In fact, my colleagues are the most enjoyable aspect of my work!

Why did you choose to work with environment?

I have always been interested in the environment and nature, so it was an easy choice when I had the opportunity to work with environmental issues. I realised just how important it is that we make good environmental choices for the future in our professional and private lives. And it is satisfying to think that I might be able to affect some of those choices. Working with the environment is a way of life.

Which qualities or characteristics are needed when working with environment?

I think that curiosity and a thirst for knowledge are some of the most important characteristics. Environmental issues cover a broad range of concerns, from waste management to nuclear power. There is always something new to learn and I have to seek out certain information myself. The second important characteristic is the ability to co-operate. Environmental issues concern all of us and decisions must be taken together.

What is most important when dealing with environment?

Our common ambition to be number one for the environment was an important decision. We have to work together very closely within Vattenfall to reach this goal. We must identify environmental issues clearly and set reasonable objectives and targets. There is a great deal to do, but we’re moving in the right direction. By achieving our targets, we will show interest groups that we take such issues very seriously.
