Corporate social responsibility
“It is our task and our responsibility to work towards developing energy solutions that accord with sustainable development in society. It is not enough just to consider the environmental aspects of each individual energy solution. An energy system must contribute to sustainable development in society, not only from an environmental perspective, but also from social and economic perspectives. It must be able to meet today’s needs without jeopardising the ability for future generations to meet theirs.” Lars G Josefsson, CEO
What we want – our CSR vision
We want to enhance our customers’ competitiveness, environment and quality of life through efficient energy solutions and world–class service. But meeting the needs of our present customers must never compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs. There is always a trade–off between the provision of energy and environmental consequences. The criteria for acceptable impact must be set in dialogue with society. The framework is defined by regulation and market mechanisms. Vattenfall has high ambitions and contributes to sustainable development through the accumulation of knowledge for use by and to the benefit of society, as well as through the decisions we make and the actions we take.
CSR Report
People have views about Vattenfall and its operations. Listening and communicating are important tools in our work with social responsibility issues – and our annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report is a good example of Vattenfall’s approach. We have selected some examples from the report below.
