Legal structure
The legal structure of the Vattenfall Group deviates from the business organisation in certain areas. The business in Sweden is mainly carried out by the parent company Vattenfall AB. The business in Germany is managed via the subsidiary Vattenfall Europe AG. Holding companies and subsidiaries exist in other countries as well. The distribution and transmission business of the Vattenfall Group is carried out in separate subsidiaries, due to European Union regulation regarding so called "unbundling".
