At Vattenfall, we use R&D to develop our business.
Our goal is to deliver better service and more attractive products, while increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes and systems. A large part of this involves reducing the environmental impact of our activities, and contributing to sustainable development.
Today and tomorrow
To achieve maximum real impact, Vattenfall’s work is mainly focused on improving the environmental performance of the resources we already have. However, we also work with new technologies that are likely to provide business opportunities in the future. And we participate actively in international research programmes involving new energy technologies.

Future Production Technologies
We frequently demonstrate new technologies or products in a range of fields, for example wind power. Vattenfall is also the largest owner of and contributor to the Swedish Nuclear Waste Management company, SKB.
