A better environment for SCA Hygiene
Energy efficiency improvements provide SCA Hygiene with vast financial benefits and a better environment.
Vattenfall has improved the energy consumption efficiency at SCA Hygiene Products GmbH in Mannheim, Germany. The project is now in its last stage and is expected to save the company around SEK 7 million annually.
Vattenfall began by identifying more than ten measures to substantially reduce production costs. Five of these have already been introduced, including condensate recovery, more energy-efficient water heating, and improved efficiency in the evaporator plant.
A cleaner environment
Energy efficiency creates a better environment by replacing natural gas firing with recovery of low temperature heat. Vattenfall has contributed resources to the project, relieving SCA of additional work. We have similar cooperation agreements with other organisations including SCA Packaging in Munksund. SCA Hygiene Products GmbH in Mannheim manufactures hygiene products and raw materials for these products.
