About Power Networks

In Sweden alone Vattenfall has owned or designed more than 15 000 km of 400 kV and 220 kV and more than 11 000 km of 132 kV transmission lines, 5 High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) interconnections with neighbouring countries. In the early 1950s Vattenfall was the first in the world succeeding to transmit power at 400 kV as well as with HVDC. Since then, we have been involved in just about every major HVDC link around the world. Vattenfall as a major actor in the Nordic countries, participates in one of the first deregulated markets with a common power trading market, NordPool. We support our customers in all parts of the investment process, from feasibility studies, financial analysis and tender documents, procurement, tender evaluation, design, supervision of construction and commissioning, and operation and maintenance management.
