Annual General Meeting 2009

Vattenfall's Annual General Meeting 2009 was held on 29 April at Berns in Stockholm. As during previous years the meeting was open to the public.

Two new Board members were elected: Cecilia Vieweg and Björn Savén. Lars Westerberg was re-elected Chairman of the Board. Hans-Olov Olsson, Tuija Soanjärvi and Anders Sundström left the Board of Directors.  

The AGM adopted the annual report and consolidated financial statements for 2008 submitted by the Board of Directors and Group CEO, resolved to distribute the company’s profit and discharged the members of the Board and the CEO from liability.  

The owner’s representative, State Secretary Ola Alterå, gave an address in which he informed about the work being conducted by the state with respect to Vattenfall’s strategy. He informed about the owner’s focus on three core areas regarding

Vattenfall’s future development:
- Profitability;
- Climate change;
- The Vattenfall brand.

Annual General Meeting 2008

Vattenfall's Annual General Meeting 2008 was held on 29 April at Nalen Conference in Stockholm. The meeting was open to the public, as during previous years. Renewal of energy system was in the spotlight. In his speech, the CEO Lars G Josefsson also linked this to the theme of the Vattenfall annual report, “Power for renewal”. Three new Board members were elected, Lars Westerberg, Viktoria Aastrup and Eli Arnstad. Lars Westerberg was elected Chairman of the Board. Dag Klackenberg, Jonas Iversen and Greta Fossum left the Board of Directors.

Annual General Meeting 2007

Vattenfall's Annual General Meeting 2007 was held on April 26 at Hotel Rival in Stockholm.

The work to combat climate change was especially highlighted. The meeting was open to the public, as during previous years. Jonas Iversen and Tuija Soanjärvi were elected new board members. Maarit Aarni-Sirviö and Peter Lindell left the Board of Directors.

Annual General Meeting 2006

On April 27, Vattenfall held its second public Annual General Meeting in Stockholm.

Once again the entire Swedish general public was invited, an initiative that is in line with our endeavour to achieve transparency. Approximately 200 people attended the meeting. During the question & answer session immediately following the meeting, the Chairman of the Board, Dag Klackenberg, and CEO Lars G Josefsson answered questions on topics such as structural changes on the energy market, Vattenfall’s pricing and customer service, investments in renewable energy, owner governance and more. Olle Rossander, journalist, moderated the session. The entire general meeting was broadcasted live over the internet in a webcast.

Annual General Meeting 2005

On April 26, Vattenfall held its Annual General Meeting in Stockholm, an event which to date has only been open for members of the Swedish Parliament (“Riksdagen”).

This year, for the first time the entire Swedish public was invited to the Annual General Meeting, an initiative that is in line with our endeavour to achieve transparency. Over 250 people came to listen and ask questions at the general meeting. During the questions & answers session, the Chairman of the Board and the CEO answered questions on topics such as the environment, our investments abroad and corporate governance. The entire general meeting was webcasted over the internet.
