Nuclear power
The nuclear power business origins from the technical department of Vattenfall, that was in charge of the construction of seven nuclear power plants in Forsmark and Ringhals during the commissioning of the Swedish nuclear program in 1974 to 1986.
As an utility based consultancy company we have access to the experience from the owners perspective of Nuclear power plants in areas such as Nuclear safety, Asset management, Operation, Availability, Waste handling etc. WE have experience from power upgrading and life extension of the Swedish nuclear power stations including, steam turbine and steam generator replacement.
We have a leading role in all major nuclear projects in Sweden for the past 35 years. In addition we have had assignments globally. Last year our cooperation began with ESKOM in South Africa as senior advisor in different areas. We also have had a long and fruitful cooperation with the Ignalina NPP in Lithuania in the upgrading of nuclear safety in several projects since 1990. After the decision to shut-down the Ignalina NPP we have been a part of the Consortium that leads the PMU for the decommissioning since 2001.
Our consultants are involved in a number of nuclear projects daily, for example uprating, lifetime extension, modernisation with regard to new safety regulations, HIS (Human System Interface), decommissioning, radioactive waste management etc.
