Lidia Zielińska
"Personal development is vital for me, and working with Vattenfall allows me to gain new knowledge, enhance my competences and constantly develop my skills," says Lidia Zielińska, Senior Specialist for Supplier Switch at Distribution Poland in Gliwice.
What do your duties consist of?
I work for the Operator Services Department of Vattenfall Distribution in Poland.
My story with the company started twelve years ago. I can notice a certain rule when I look back into the past - have worked for about five years in each area. First I was a secretary at the former Energy Region Zabrze, then I was collecting difficult receivables at the Trading Company, and now I have been involved in the supplier switch process.
As part of my duties, I review reports from suppliers on electricity sale agreements for particular customers. I manage the Retail Market Configuration, for instance I assign customer-metering data to a specific supplier and its balancing entity, and send such values to the Transmission System Operator.
Now, as a team, we are thinking about a set-up of the supplier switch process for the customers not connected to the grid of Vattenfall Distribution Poland. I am also engaged in the efforts of a team established in liaison with the Polish Power Transmission and Distribution Association (PTPiREE) and together with my colleagues from other Distribution System Operators - DSO: s we are thinking on creating new solutions for future collaboration with DSO: s.
What do you enjoy most in your work?
Working with Vattenfall gives you many opportunities. As the people are the most valuable asset of this organisation, I will firstly note the opportunity to work with excellent professionals and kind people. Personal development is vital for me, and working with Vattenfall allows me to gain new knowledge, enhance my competences and constantly develop my skills.
I have participated in many programmes, such as: Management Academy, and Project Management. Now I enjoy my membership with the Business Unit Distribution Internal Trainers Academy. I could not imagine that working with this project would be so important for me, and this for many reasons. First of all, I have been able to contribute to something I believe in, I can take up new challenges, overcome my weaknesses and achieve small successes and this only and exclusively by working with the people in BUD. To develop one’s soft competences also becomes beneficial for your personal life. For me it means being a better mother, colleague and friend.
