Øystein Løseth becomes CEO of Vattenfall on April 12

On 12 April, Øystein Løseth assumes the position as CEO of Vattenfall. Øystein Løseth was until recently CEO of the Dutch energy company Nuon, which was incorporated in the Vattenfall Group on 1 July 2009.

Huib Morelisse to be Nuon’s new CEO

Huib Morelisse (45) has been appointed as Nuon’s CEO. He will take up his new role on 1 July 2010. Nuon CEO, Øystein Løseth, is very pleased with the appointment.

Nuon applies for SDE subsidy for offshore wind farm

Nuon, part of the Vattenfall group, submitted its application for a subsidy under the SDE scheme for offshore wind farms March 1. In 2005 Nuon started preparations for the Beaufort wind farm (around 340 MW) 30 kilometres off the coast of Zuid-Holland. Nuon believes that with this project it has a good chance of getting the subsidy, which will be necessary for the realisation of the wind farm.

By investing in wind energy Nuon supports the Dutch cabinet target of installing 6000 MW off shore by 2020 at the latest. Nuon’s ambition is to develop a total of 1400 MW of wind energy by 2020.
