Nuon applies for SDE subsidy
for offshore wind farm
Nuon, part of the Vattenfall group, submitted its application for a subsidy under the SDE scheme for offshore wind farms March 1. In 2005 Nuon started preparations for the Beaufort wind farm (around 340 MW) 30 kilometres off the coast of Zuid-Holland. Nuon believes that with this project it has a good chance of getting the subsidy, which will be necessary for the realisation of the wind farm.
By investing in wind energy Nuon supports the Dutch cabinet target of installing 6000 MW off shore by 2020 at the latest. Nuon’s ambition is to develop a total of 1400 MW of wind energy by 2020.
