Vattenfall Energy Trading is the central trading platform of the Vattenfall Group. Almost 400 people are operating from five locations (Hamburg, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Warsaw).

We are active in all relevant energy commodities across the Nordic countries, Continental Europe, Central Eastern Europe, and the United Kingdom.

Our range of activities covers the whole energy value chain, from:

• sourcing of fuels and carbon credits
• trading physical and financial commodities
• providing portfolio and risk management services
• daily optimisation of Vattenfall’s plants.

Within our financial licence business, we offer first-class portfolio management and access to major energy markets to utilities and industrial enterprises in Continental Europe and the Nordic region.

The integration of Nuon Energy Trade & Wholesale with Vattenfall Trading Services has taken our trading business to the next level. Building on strong market knowledge, we leverage on our wide span of activities across all commodities and regions.

Our business environment is characterised by high volatility and increasing complexity. Our main task is to mitigate and transfer energy and commodity-related risks to the market for the entire Vattenfall group. We take responsibility for a more diversified sourcing of gas, oil, coal and carbon credits. These efforts are the basis for increased customer value, fulfilling the targets for sustainable energy and continuous business growth.
