Energy efficiency
Energy efficiency activities are conducted to support the “role of electricity and heat” in our society.
Our R&D has been assigned a clearer focus on projects concerning more efficient use of energy. Cooperation with Volvo on plug-in cars continues. Since late 2008 Vattenfall has also been working with BMW on an electric car project in Berlin.
Vattenfall’s role is to provide the electricity via a network of electricity stations. Activities relating to energy system analysis are also ongoing. The purpose is to increase knowledge of the energy system in Europe to support a key outcome – a sustainable energy system in Europe.
