We are convinced that striving for diversity helps building a more profitable, effective and attractive company. A workforce with a multitude of backgrounds and experiences is more creative and willing to adapt to new input, different views, and ways of working, providing the business with a number of tangible advantages.
At Vattenfall, diversity means that all employees should have the same opportunities and rights regardless of their age, ethnical and cultural background or gender. Everyone is to be treated with respect. Our view comprises all areas of human resources, such as recruitment, wages, benefits, work environment, education, promotion and leadership.
Our long-term objectives
Our overall ambition is to firmly establish diversity as a natural part of our daily business lives by increasing knowledge, acceptance and the willingness to work with the diverse aspects of our business. Therefore, our employees are to reflect the societies in which we operate with regards to gender, age and ethnical/cultural background. Further, we aim to increase the number of female managers to achieve a more balanced ratio within the organisation.
To strengthen our diversity ambitions, we have joined the Swedish government’s Global Responsibility initiative, meaning that we have committed ourselves to following the United Nations Global Compact and the OECD’s guidelines for multinational companies.
