EU cooperation
The project on CCS is performed by Vattenfall. A large part of the research and development is carried out in cooperation with our partners. ENCAP, CO2STORE, CO2MAN, and CO2NET are such projects that are, in part financed by the EU.
ENCAP
Vattenfall is the coordinator of ENCAP. The main objective of the project is to develop the technology around capturing carbon dioxide. The focus is on pre-combustion and oxyfuel combustion.

CO2STORE
Vattenfall participates in the European research project CO2STORE. The project will lead to a better theoretical understanding of large-scale storage of carbon dioxide. The project includes four case studies in Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany and Denmark.

CO2MAN
Vattenfall was one of 14 European participants in the EU project CO2SINK. The project has increased knowledge on underground storage of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide has been injected in an aquifer in Ketzin in eastern Germany. The project has been concluded and replaced by a new project called CO2MAN.

CO2NET
Vattenfall also participates in CO2NET. CO2NET is the European Network of researchers, developers and users of carbon dioxide technology.
