The Business Group Central Europe comprises the business operations in the legal entity Vattenfall Europe AG in Germany (with the exception on VTS GmbH), and the business operations in Poland.

Business Unit Mining and Generation

Head of Business Unit:
Dr. Hartmuth Zeiss, Vice President and General Manager

Accountable for owning, operating and developing Vattenfall’s mining operations and electricity generation in Germany except from nuclear and wind. Participation in developing and proposing the hedge strategy for its own hedge portfolio.

The business unit is accountable for owning, operating and developing Vattenfall’s electricity transmission network business in Germany.

Business Unit Distribution Central Europe

Accountable for owning, operating and developing Vattenfall’s electricity distribution network business in Germany and Poland. Accountable for the financial result of their own hedge. Portfolios in Germany and Poland.

Business Unit Sales Central Europe

Accountable for sales and marketing in Germany of electricity, gas and energy services (excluding heat) to households, commercial, industrial and reselling commercial customers.Accountable for sales and marketing of electricity in Poland. Accountable for the financial result of their own hedge portfolios in Germany and Poland.

Business Unit Heat Central Europe

Head of Business Unit:
Frank May, Vice President and General Manager

Accountable for owning, operating and developing combined heat and power generation and district heating plants in Germany, as well as sales and marketing of heat on the German market. Accountable for owning, operating and developing district heating plants in Poland, as well as sales and marketing of heat on the Polish market. Participation in developing and proposing the hedge strategy for their own hedge portfolios in Germany and Poland.
